BNG 2.5 / 2.6 Release Notes
QUICK UPDATE 2.6:
The "everything but payment" feature has been renamed to "Don't Submit Payment" for accuracy, and timer start date can now be set to the second.
2.5 RELEASE NOTES:
In light of BNG's Welker drop last Thursday, I've updated the BNG bot to version 2.5. 2.5 features a couple of pre-emptive workarounds for anti-bot measures:
The "product page stop" will stop the bot after opening product pages, so that the user can complete any anti-bot stuff (like the dropdown menu from the Welker drop) on those pages and add the items to their cart. Once all the items are added, the bot will automatically open checkout and resume functioning. (Note that this only works with quantities =1, and all the product pages opened must be carted before the bot will go to checkout.)
The "pause for captcha" option will stop the bot on the first page of checkout so that the user can complete captcha (if there is one). The bot will resume functioning normally after the user clicks "Continue to shipping method" at the bottom of the page. BNG hasn't instated a captcha yet, but if they're interested in stopping bots, they might do so in the future.
Both these features require a user be present to successfully complete a purchase. As such, they are not ideal solutions, but as far as I know there is no automated way to do the newer captchas (apart from outsourcing them to other human users), and a better solution to the product page dropdown menu will have to wait until BNG uses it again (which may be never, since they mentioned switching to lotteries because of the customer backlash the dropdown generated).
Also new is the "everything but payment" option. This stops automatic checkout from submitting payment so that the user can review the order, which makes the bot's behavior a touch more customizable / flexible / user friendly.
Some of these features, and maybe a few new ones will make their way onto the other bots in the near future.
Cheers,
CrappyBot Developer
